This JAPANESE KIRI-E COLLAGE WORKSHOP will explore the ancient skills of creating pictures and collages from carefully chosen papers. Artist and florist Fiona McKeown will show you how to build your collage, using simple techniques such as sketching, tearing, cutting, and inking. You will explore some simple rules of composition, with examples and images to guide you.

You will create a lovely collage to take home with you, of gift to a friend or loved one.    All materials are provided, so just bring yourselves.

All workshops are delivered by paper artist and florist Fiona McKeown, founder of Folly + Bird Flowers. Fiona creates sculptures and canvases from paper and objects found in nature. She is currently exhibiting at the Biscuit Factory in the Ouseburn Valley. Her bouquets can be bought at Jesmond Food Market, first and third Saturday of the month.

Tea and coffee facilities will be available, either from the kitchen or the tea and coffee machine. Jesmond Library is situated on St George’s Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle, NE2 2DL. There is street parking available, with some permit restrictions.

Please note that Workshop bookings are not refundable once paid for. They can, however, be transferred to another participant for the same session.
